Welcome to Once Upon a Figgy, where fairy tales and automotive nostalgia come to life! Our story is one of passion, adventure, and the love for a charming pink Nissan Figaro named Pixie.
A Love Story Begins in Charleston, SC
In the spring of 2021, while pedaling through the charming streets of Charleston, SC, our founder, Amber, had a serendipitous encounter that would change her life forever. It was there, amidst the cobblestone streets and Southern charm, that she laid eyes on her first Nissan Figaro, affectionately referred to as a "Figgy". It was love at first sight! This chance encounter sparked a two-year quest to find a Figaro she could call her own, and as fate would have it, love was truly in the air—Amber got engaged during that very visit to Charleston, making it the beginning of a beautiful love story.
The Quest to Find Pixie
Fast forward to June 2023, and the adventure took an unexpected turn. Our founder's wonderful husband unearthed a Nissan Figaro in Appleton, WI – a delightful surprise in an unlikely place. Though she wasn't exactly what we had in mind, she soon became our beloved Pixie. Undergoing a magical transformation, Pixie now dons a soft and charming pink hue, capturing hearts wherever she goes.
The Nissan Figaro - A Timeless Classic
The Nissan Figaro holds a special place in automotive history. Introduced to the world at the 1989 Tokyo Motor Show under the slogan "Back to the Future," it immediately captured the hearts of enthusiasts worldwide. Its name, "Figaro," was inspired by the favorite opera of the Chairman of Nissan, Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro."
In 1991, 200,000 eager individuals entered into a lottery for the chance to purchase one of the 20,000 Figaros that were made. All of these unique cars were released between February and December 1991 and were exclusively sold in Japan.
The Figaro, a right-hand drive marvel, boasts distinctive features such as its convertible design, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, and a 3-speed automatic transmission. With a maximum speed of 97 mph, it's not just a car; it's a piece of automotive history.
